November 8, 2023 marks the 58th anniversary of the Higher Education Act and institutions around the country will be celebrating the presence and experiences of first-generation college students, faculty, and staff at their campuses.

NMSU’s 5th Annual First-Generation Celebration will spotlight its system-wide, first-generation college students and graduates via NMSU’s Hotline and social media.Β Β As a First-Gen Forward designated institution we honor our students’ resiliency, work ethic and success.Β  If you are one of NMSU’s first-gen celebrities or know of someone who is, we want to share your successΒ story! First-Generation Table

Stop by Corbett Center Student Union first floor lobby from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. to pick up first-gen information, a first-gen activity flyer, a first-gen button, and Sodexo’s first-gen cookie. While you are there make sure to take a photo using one of the first-gen decorated frames and then post on social media.
